When you stop fasting, it is important to allow your body to digest everyday food slowly. Because digestive organs reduce enzyme production and are also affected by gastric mucus walls during fasting, overeating or eating certain foods too early can cause problems such as nausea, stomachache, and diarrhea. You need to eat everyday food slowly and strategically so that you can safely recover after stopping fasting without getting sick.
1. Prepare a recovery schedule according to the period of fasting.
Make sure to have a recovery period in the process of stopping fasting. It is recommended to set the fasting suspension period according to the fasting period. If you don't want to fail or get sick, you won't skip the initial fasting suspension stage.
If you fast for more than 7 days, it is recommended to set 4 days as the fasting suspension period. The first 1-2 days are only very basic meals.
If the fasting period was as short as a week, the fasting recovery period of about three days is enough. On the first day, I eat fruit juice and some soup-oriented meals. Depending on the degree of digestion, the recovery process may proceed faster over the next two days.
If you are fasting per day, set the recovery period to 1-2 days. Body organs are not in a very stressful state, but it is not good to eat junk food immediately.
2. Eat only fruit and vegetable juice on the first day.
After stopping fasting for a long time, you should initially replenish your body with moisture. On the first and second days, it is recommended to drink only diluted fruit/vegetable juice.
After stopping fasting, drink a cup of diluted fruit or vegetable juice. Avoid products with separate sugar or additives. This is because such ingredients must have already been made and absorbed in the body anyway.
Once again within 4 hours, drink a glass of diluted fruit and vegetable juice.
3. Add fresh fruits to your diet.
If you have been fasting for more than 1-2 weeks, it is recommended to continue drinking fruits and vegetable juice, broth, or soup the next day. However, if the fasting period was short, try eating fresh fruits the next day. Fruits contain high moisture, digest relatively well, and replenish nutrients and energy. Eat foods that the digestive system can digest without overdoing.
4. Add yogurt.
It is recommended to stop fasting and drink yogurt when recovering. Yogurt helps increase the number of good bacteria and enzymes in the digestive tract, which has been reduced by fasting. Yogurt's probiotics gradually help with food digestion smoothly.
Eat yogurt together on the second day, or on the first day you try fresh fruit. If possible, it is recommended to inject enzymes into the digestive tract as soon as possible without strain on the digestive tract.
Sugar can worsen the condition, so be sure to eat yogurt without sugar.
5. Eating vegetables.
Eat green leaf vegetables such as lettuce and spinach first. Try eating vegetables without cooking them with yogurt dressing. As the digestive system is returning to its rhythm, I also eat fruits and juice continuously.
After eating lettuce and spinach, try other vegetables. Let's not cook it or cook it and try it. Or try making vegetable soup and eating it.
Bean sprouts are very good vegetables that contain a number of minerals and antioxidants that our body needs and can easily digest.
6. Add grains and beans. Cook well and eat it with vegetables and fruits. The more you eat various foods, the stronger your appetite becomes.
When you get used to eating, try eating nuts or eggs. Boiled or eaten with scrambled eggs is the easiest to digest rather than fully boiled eggs.
7. Eat several foods when your body condition improves.
If the digestive system digested vegetables and fruits without problems, let's start eating foods that are more difficult to digest. However, if the process so far has not been smooth, it is better to maintain a little more food that has been consumed so far. Let's believe in food that the digestive system accepted comfortably.
